@odd Yeah. Same.

@odd Yeah. Same.

@matti No take that I've written down but I'm more along the line in that it depends on what sort of work you're doing, like you say.

@jonesbp I even think that it can sometimes work to your advantage. A lot new stuff in web dev doesn't last long or takes longer to become useful than expected so waiting a bit can actually be a productive filter. ๐Ÿ™‚

@ridwan This is true.

@sod Haha, no. Not really. It did leave us with a lifelong disdain for most managers who completely disregard basic conceps that even a ten-year-old can grasp. ๐Ÿ˜„

@artkavanagh The data is far from conclusive. A majority of those who got Janssen here were under 35 and that is the demographic with the highest infection rate.

But itโ€™s also the demo that takes the most risks and socialises the most without precautions.

So, they are being cautious by offering the boosters now rather than waiting on definitive data.

@tracydurnell Yeah. Makes me curious to see if I can't bring back some elements of that aesthetic in a future project.

@fgtech This is true

@pimoore Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

@ridwan Thanks. I was doing a lot of ebook work at the time ๐Ÿ™‚

@philbowell ๐Ÿ™‚

@JMaxB Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

@patrickrhone ๐Ÿ˜

@amit Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

@jonesbp Iโ€™m really glad to hear that! ๐Ÿ™‚

@wearsmanyhats Very cool to hear.

@fgtech True.

@odd Yeah, beer was illegal here between 1915 and 1989. Prohibition for everything else was lifted in 1935. The theory was that beer promoted too much casual drinking ๐Ÿ˜„

Moonshine/landi has persisted more due to extremely high alcohol prices than prohibition, although that is when it started. ๐Ÿ™‚

@artkavanagh In my experience, even hackers donโ€™t have a hackerโ€™s mentality when theyโ€™re shopping around. ๐Ÿ˜„

@fgtech All true ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

@fgtech Itโ€™s a bit of an issue for cultural discourse, though. Which is an issue for most things digital, not just the web. There are a lot of landmark iOS apps and games that are no longer available anywhere. Which means that a lot of modern takes on the history of interactive media will be as good as fictional.

Same with modern analysis of specific slices of web history. Too many of the primary sources are gone.

@artkavanagh Yeah, it is what it is and knowing that sooner would have been nice.

@terrygrier Exactly! Itโ€™s all a sort of performance that never actually translates into more interesting writing.

@artkavanagh My pleasure ๐Ÿ™‚
