The answer, at least as far as workplaces go, is a solid no, as Deming and others demonstrates ages ago. You can accomplish amazing things just by minimizing dysfunction, both individual and institutional.
As a slight counterpoint to my web dev gloom lately: I’m testing building one component in a work project as a Svelte 3 component and it is rather nice once you get past the build setup.
Still haven’t figured out how to test it properly yet.
I don’t know what this says about the state of web development, but it says something.

This sort of structure is hard to pull off in a short entry. It probably would have worked better in a longer post that alternated between the two themes.

I wonder if publishers who sell the ebook edition of a $40 book for $39 end up being surprised at how low their ebook sales are? Or are low ebook sales the point?
