Icelandic fact of the day: “Guð launar fyrir hrafninn” is an Icelandic idiom dating back to at least the early 1800s. Translated: “God will repay those who help the raven”. It’s both used literally (helping ravens is good luck) and figuratively (good deeds result in good luck).
