“How and why to learn command line as a front end developer - Go Make Things”
... works as a web developer in Hveragerði, Iceland, and writes about the web, digital publishing, and web/product development
These are his notes
“How and why to learn command line as a front end developer - Go Make Things”
“Your Responsibility For Insight, Understanding and Creative Work - Ian Welsh”
“The best new products introduce only one new thing. - Capiche”
“Brighton Ruby, why’s (Poignant) Guide, and justsimply.dev - Consonance”
“Mike Pondsmith: Cops and Racists”
The author of the Cyberpunk roleplaying game has a knack for writing about the current state of the world, which he kind of predicted, thirty years ago.
“RIP Denny O’Neil: legendary writer and mentor passes away at age 81 - The Beat”
Denny O’Neil transformed US comics.
“Not so fast: Diamond will still distribute DC Comics - in the UK - The Beat”
Oooh, a twist. This actually makes a lot of sense as Diamond doesn’t really have international competitors yet.
“Brilliant Hardware in the Valley of the Software Slump — by Craig Mod”
“Fawlty reporting – Carrie Marshall: Bigmouth Strikes Again”
You should always take what you see in the U.K. press with a grain of salt. They all have their biases and many outright lie.
“Midtown Comics is hiring a Shipping Specialist for their warehouse”
“Inside the DC/Diamond split - The Beat”
Basically, selling US-published comics pamplets outside of the US has become untenable (lost one of the biggest publishers). Canadian and European comics stores are screwed unless they mostly sell graphic novels.
Interesting
